How it all started...
What started as a boring day lost in a local antique shop with my four-year-old niece and nephew (better known as the twins), lead us to a weathered oak bench in a quiet corner of the shop. Their tired legs needed a moment's rest, but their minds were wondering what adventures they could rather be on instead of dawdling behind the grown-ups. It wasn’t long before they both were demanding to hear a story to pass the time. So there, on the bench in Colonial Antiques, began the most wonderful imaginative adventure for me, and for the twins of course.
I loved every second as they gasped and wowed, hearing the stories that were painted in my head. I realised as soon as I got home that I needed to write them down and bring them to life. I began writing with a purpose, each story tailored for a specific family. First, it was "The Adventures of Rosie" for Scarlett in Michigan, followed by “Drikus die Drakie” for Aiden. With a little love and a lot of support, my husband reached out to a talented illustrator who painted the most colourful scenes to accompany my words. I am forever grateful that he pushed me to see the value in the worlds I wanted to share.

Writing children’s books was never something I thought I was going to pursue, more of a fairytale that one of my characters might dream of accomplishing.
However much like my tales teach little humans: If you don’t try with all your heart, how can you know it wasn’t meant to be? With the support of my husband, our friends and family (plus our two fur kids, Fudge and Flamby), I have opened this little “bookshop”, my very own weathered oak bench, for you to come, grab a book and join in on our next big adventure together.
